DDU-GKY

From 2023 to 2025, under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) implemented by Swami Vivekanand Seva Trust (SVST), Hingoli, a total of 280 rural youth candidates were successfully trained, assessed, and certified in various skill development trades. These candidates come from socially and economically disadvantaged groups, including SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), PWD (Persons with Disabilities), Minority Communities, and other vulnerable sections. The training program focused on improving skills in demand-driven sectors and provided holistic development, preparing the candidates for sustainable employment.

The candidates were selected from multiple districts in Maharashtra, specifically Nanded, Jalna, Washim, and Yavatmal. A significant proportion of the trained candidates were women, emphasizing SVST’s special focus on promoting gender equality and empowering rural women through skill development. The training not only equipped them with technical knowledge and practical skills but also built confidence, soft skills, and work-readiness, which are essential for successful integration into the workforce.

Between 2023 and 2025, 199 candidates were successfully placed in suitable employment opportunities across diverse industries and sectors, contributing to their economic independence and livelihood security. This achievement helped in reducing rural unemployment and improving socio-economic conditions in the region. Through its dedicated implementation of DDU-GKY, Swami Vivekanand Seva Trust played a crucial role in transforming the lives of marginalized youth and women, promoting sustainable rural development, and fostering inclusive growth in Maharashtra.
